Hamburg Fire Station Opens as Warming Center

Saturday, February 6th, 2016

Due to the protracted time it is taking to restore power to certain sections of Lyme after yesterday’s heavy, wet snowfall, the Lyme Fire Company has opened its Hamburg Station to serve as a warming center for residents who are no longer comfortable staying in their homes.

Power crews are in town and repair efforts are underway, but damage is quite severe on several local roads. At this point there is no firm estimate as to when all residents will be back on line.

The latest Eversource outage report shows 379 residences still without power which is approximately 29% of the town.

All of our roads are now open and passable. Please be patient. All parties are doing their best to get power back to everyone as quickly as possible.
