The Lyme Town Hall & Lyme Transfer Station will be closed Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day.

Joshuatown Road Closure Slated for Friday, August 19th

A section of Joshuatown Road will be shut down Friday, August 19th to undertake a drainage/safety project. The job site is situated between Tantumorantum and Mitchell Hill Roads. Traffic will be detoured on to Tantumorantum and Mitchell Hill for most of the day while work is underway. The job should take just one day to complete with road use back to normal by the end of the evening.

Lyme-Old Lyme Education Foundation Event Announced

The Lyme-Old Lyme Education has announced its 2016 Bound for the Sound fund raising road race has been scheduled for Saturday, September 24th. Please consider participating in this annual community event which helps support programs in our two communities

Whether you are a seasoned runner who enjoys the competition of a timed race or a family looking for an opportunity take part in a fun filled event, the course meets all expectations.

How to Check Your Voter Registration Status: To check your voter status, go to, enter your data, and your current voter status will be listed.

Voter Registration Applications: Voter Registration Applications are available at the Lyme Town Hall, 480 Hamburg Road during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM).  You may also download an application or register online at the Secretary of the State’s website at www.sots.ct/gov.

Voter Registration Deadline – By Mail: Deadline for registrars to receive MAIL IN Applications for registration to vote in the General Election is NOVEMBER 1, 2016.

Voter Registration Deadline – In Person: Last day for eligible citizens to register to vote in the General Election is NOVEMBER 8, 2016.  Note:  Election Day Registration must be done at the Designated Election Day Registration location, which is Lyme Town Hall.


Absentee Ballot Applications: Absentee ballots applications are available in person from Town Clerk anytime during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM) or you may download an application from the Secretary of the State’s website at www.sots.ct/gov.

Absentee Ballot Availability: Absentee ballots will be available beginning October 7. If you have completed an absentee ballot application prior to that date, it will be mailed to you on that date.

Absentee Ballot Return Deadline: Absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 8:00 PM on Election Day.  Note:  If an absentee ballot is returned in person by the applicant, it must be returned by or on the day before the election.  Note: town hall closes at 4:00 PM.


Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2016. On that day votes will be cast for United States Presidential and Vice-Presidential electors, United States Senator, Representative in Congress (2nd District), State Senator (33rd Senate District), State Representative (23rd General Assembly District), Registrar of Voters (Lyme).  The location of the polling place is the LYME TOWN HALL located at 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT 06371.  Voting tabulators will be used.  The polls will open at six o’clock in the morning (6:00 AM) and will remain open until eight o’clock in the evening (8:00 PM).
