The Board of Selectmen wishes to remind townspeople that the annual Fourth of July parade will be held on the day of the 4th which happens to fall on Sunday this year. As parade founder Dr. Bill Irving is found of saying, “it will begin promptly at about 11:00 A.M.”
People wishing to participate should assemble in the vicinity of the Camp Claire ball field on Cove Road.
We encourage one and all to enjoy the Lyme Park & Rec activities at the Grange Hall after the parade where we will be kicking off what we hope will become another parade tradition. The winner of a newly created essay contest for students at the Lyme Consolidated School will be reading his/her commentary on the importance of Independence Day. A strong show of support would be gratifying.
Our best wishes to all for a safe and happy holiday weekend.
