The Lyme Old Lyme Education Foundation is pleased to announce its first Annual Trivia Bee to be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Lyme Old Lyme Middle School.
Billed as the most “bee dazzling” fund raiser in The Lymes, The Adult Trivia Bee invites teams of four, comprised of members from local businesses, community organizations and neighborhoods.Each team will be given a list of trivia topics in advance of the event. Teams are encouraged, but not required, to choose a fun name and dress in costume. The evening will be hosted by the Foundation and emcee’d by Kevin Hogan of Channel 3 News.
The winning team from each round will then participate in a championship round with the winner to be awarded the coveted Honey Cup conveying the distinction of being LOL’s Triva Bee Champion. There will be prizes for best costume and team name as well.
Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend and root for their favority teams in person. Refreshments, local honey and raffle tickets will also be available for purchase.
The Lyme Old Lyme Education Foundation supports innovative educational initiatives in both our schools and communities.Thanks to community support, LOLEF has donated over 100-thousand dollars to such endeavors since its inception. This year alone, the Foundation has awarded almost $40,000 in funding to the Regional District 18 school system as well as Community Education projects. The LOLEF relies heavily on the success of fundraisers such as the Triva Bee to sustain the viability of its grants program.
Businesses and organizations are invited to either enter or sponsor a team made up of teachers and or students from our local schools.
