The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has recently announced a proposal that would increase the car fare on the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry by $1.00, effective July 1, 2018; and increase the price of a 20-ticket coupon book from $60 to $80, effective the same date. CTDOT has also announced that residents can comment on the proposed changes by sending a letter to “Comment on Proposed Fare and Service Changes,” CTDOT, P.O. Box 317546, Newington, CT 06131; by sending an email to email@example.com; or by attending a town hall meeting, one of which will be held in Chester on February 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Click here for details.
The Lyme Volunteer Fair will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Lyme Public Library, where more than 30 Lyme-affiliated nonprofits, associations, boards and commissions will be on hand with opportunities for local residents to volunteer and be of service to our town.
