The CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will hold a public hearing on Nov. 13 concerning the preliminary recommendation by the State that portions of the Lower Connecticut River, Bluff Point, Haley Farm State Park and adjacent areas of Long Island Sound be proposed to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for designation as a National Estuarine Research Reserve. The hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Academic Building Auditorium at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point campus, located at 1084 Shennecossett Road in Groton. The Lyme Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., at Lyme Town Hall to hear and act on the following matters:
- An application to amend zoning regulations by Edward M. Bombaci, 131-2 Salem Road, Map 46 Lot 3, requesting an amendment to Chapter 315, Article 23.3, Existing nonconforming lots; and an amendment to Chapter 315, Article 2.2, Definitions.
- An application to amend zoning regulations by William T. Koch Jr., Avenue B, Map 40.4 Lot 4, requesting an amendment to Chapter 315, Article 23.3, Existing nonconforming lots.
- The cover letter sent by the Lyme Zoning Enforcement Officer (ZEO) to the P&Z Commission, neighboring municipalities and regional organizations regarding the public hearing on the Bombaci amendment request can be read here.
