On Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., the Town of Lyme, the Lyme Land Conservation Trust and Audubon CT are offering a special presentation at Town Hall focused on how to enhance local wildlife habitat for songbirds, wild turkeys and beneficial insects. DEEP wildlife biologist Peter Picone will share his knowledge and insights on creating and improving wildlife habitat in your surroundings, and discuss the role that valuable native plants can play in creating a better environment. The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to RSVP for the presentation using this form: http://bit.ly/2PSaPGh.
The presentation is part of a year-long Audubon CT project called the “Lyme Forest Block” designed to educate landowners in six area towns about forest birds and how to better manage their woodlands for them – especially the Wood Thrush and the Cerulean Warbler.
