In accordance with State law, the Town of Lyme conducted a recount of the votes cast for the office of State Senate District 33. The original Nov. 6 vote tally was Needleman 867, Ziobron 595. The results of the Nov. 18 recount were Needleman 869, Ziobron 595. The recount was required as a result of a close vote in the Nov. 6 election.
Last day for timely payment of taxes levied on personal property list as of the previous October 1.

On Saturday, Sep. 26, at 2:00 p.m., at the Lyme Public Library: Author Erik Hesselberg presents “Night Boat to New York: Steamboats on the Connecticut 1824-1931” – which explores the days when steamboats on the Connecticut River transported people and goods between Hartford and New York City, and helped transplant the inland America “Spa Culture” to the seashore. Departing each afternoon from Hartford, the “night boats” reached New York at daybreak, inaugurating a pattern of city commuting that continues to this day. Free and open to all.
