On Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., the Lyme Veterans Memorial Committee will hold a special Veterans Day Ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day – signifying the end of World War I – outside at the Lyme Veterans Memorial next to Lyme Town Hall.  The ceremony will honor all those from Lyme who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces; and will start at 11:00 a.m., the exact time the Armistice was signed in 1918.  Speakers will include New York University’s Rolf Wolfswinkel – a professor of modern history, WWI authority and Lyme resident – and First Selectman Steven Mattson.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Meeting Hall at Lyme Town Hall at the same address (480 Hamburg Road).  All are welcome to attend.
