On Saturday, Jun. 1, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the Lyme Land Conservation Trust will celebrate CT Trails Day by opening the NaturePlace Self-Guided Trail, which highlights fascinating ecology, history and geology in the Banningwood Preserve. The interpretive trail, which will be available as a new map and brochure, is designed to engage curious hikers of all ages and interests. NaturePlace is an outdoor education space inspired by the vision of Diana and Parker Lord. The Banningwood Preserve is located off Town Street in Lyme. Reservations for the free event would be appreciated at openspace@townlyme.org. (This event will be canceled in the event of rain.)

The Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) will hold a free vaccine clinic on Monday, Feb. 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Lymes’ Senior Center. The clinic will offer residents a choice of a regular flu shot (not a high dose) or a Covid vaccine shot or both. The vaccines are available to anyone over the age of 18, with no cost requirement. The vaccines will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies run out. The clinic is offering walk-up service only; no reservations will be taken. Residents who want to receive the Covid vaccine should bring their Covid vaccination card with them.
