On Tuesday, June 18, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., volunteers will be gathering to prepare the Riverside Preserve for its June 23rd opening. Local residents will be clearing brush, invasive plants and sapling growth, as well as cleaning up the field. Participants are encouraged to bring loppers, clippers, work gloves, rakes, weed whackers and bottled water. Snacks will be provided. The Riverside Preserve is located on Salem Road about 0.4 miles from Route 156. Please email openspace@townlyme.org if you are planning to attend. (Rain date for this event is Wednesday, June 19.)
