On Saturday, Jun. 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the Town of Lyme and the Lyme Land Conservation Trust (LLCT) will offer “Spring in the Thach Preserve,” a walk and talk with Anthony Irving, a forest ecologist and LLCT board member. Irving will discuss the natural features of this vibrant environment which centers around a beaver pond and discuss their connections to the local ecology. The Thach Preserve is located at 131 Brush Hill Road in Lyme; the walk is about one mile. Reservations for the free event would be appreciated at openspace@townlyme.org. (This event will be canceled in the event of rain.)

The Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) will hold a free vaccine clinic on Monday, Feb. 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Lymes’ Senior Center. The clinic will offer residents a choice of a regular flu shot (not a high dose) or a Covid vaccine shot or both. The vaccines are available to anyone over the age of 18, with no cost requirement. The vaccines will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies run out. The clinic is offering walk-up service only; no reservations will be taken. Residents who want to receive the Covid vaccine should bring their Covid vaccination card with them.
