On Saturday, Jun. 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the Town of Lyme and the Lyme Land Conservation Trust (LLCT) will offer “Spring in the Thach Preserve,” a walk and talk with Anthony Irving, a forest ecologist and LLCT board member. Irving will discuss the natural features of this vibrant environment which centers around a beaver pond and discuss their connections to the local ecology. The Thach Preserve is located at 131 Brush Hill Road in Lyme; the walk is about one mile. Reservations for the free event would be appreciated at email@example.com. The Lyme Volunteer Fair will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Lyme Public Library, where more than 30 Lyme-affiliated nonprofits, associations, boards and commissions will be on hand with opportunities for local residents to volunteer and be of service to our town.
