The State of Connecticut has announced that there will be both a Democratic presidential primary and a Republican presidential primary on Tuesday, April 28. Lyme residents who are registered Democrats may vote in the Democratic primary; Lyme residents who are registered Republicans may vote in the Republican primary. Unaffiliated voters and residents who are registered with other political parities are not permitted to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary. Unaffiliated voters may change their party affiliation to either the Democratic or Republican party in order to vote in the corresponding presidential primary by coming to Lyme Town Hall no later than Monday, April 27, at noon.

On Monday, Feb. 27, at 1:00 p.m., at the Lymes’ Senior Center, the center will offer a free training session in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which will be led by two local emergency medical technicians (EMTs), Colleen Atkinson and Doug LoPresti. The training session will explain how to recognize when someone is experiencing cardiac arrest and how to use this type of defibrillator. The EMTs will also demonstrate how to use hands-only CPR integrated with the use of an AED while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. The program is free and open to the public.
