On Thursday, Feb. 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., State Representative Devin Carney will provide a legislative update for the residents of the Town of Lyme at the Lyme Public Library. The public forum is an opportunity for local residents to hear about issues likely to be taken up during the current legislative session and ask questions about matters of local or state importance.

On Saturday, Sep. 26, at 2:00 p.m., at the Lyme Public Library: Author Erik Hesselberg presents “Night Boat to New York: Steamboats on the Connecticut 1824-1931” – which explores the days when steamboats on the Connecticut River transported people and goods between Hartford and New York City, and helped transplant the inland America “Spa Culture” to the seashore. Departing each afternoon from Hartford, the “night boats” reached New York at daybreak, inaugurating a pattern of city commuting that continues to this day. Free and open to all.
