From Monday, April 13, through Friday, April 17, Grassy Hill Road and Coach Drive will be closed to through traffic, due to repaving the Old Lyme portion of the road. Residents who live on these streets will still be able to access their homes, but may need to detour around Rogers Lake depending on the actual location of the paving crew and equipment. There will be traffic control personnel at either end of the construction area to assist local residents. Please bear with the road work while these improvements are being made and use caution when traveling through this area.

The Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) will hold a free vaccine clinic on Monday, Feb. 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Lymes’ Senior Center. The clinic will offer residents a choice of a regular flu shot (not a high dose) or a Covid vaccine shot or both. The vaccines are available to anyone over the age of 18, with no cost requirement. The vaccines will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies run out. The clinic is offering walk-up service only; no reservations will be taken. Residents who want to receive the Covid vaccine should bring their Covid vaccination card with them.
On Monday, Feb. 27, at 1:00 p.m., at the Lymes’ Senior Center, the center will offer a free training session in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which will be led by two local emergency medical technicians (EMTs), Colleen Atkinson and Doug LoPresti. The training session will explain how to recognize when someone is experiencing cardiac arrest and how to use this type of defibrillator. The EMTs will also demonstrate how to use hands-only CPR integrated with the use of an AED while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. The program is free and open to the public. To register for the free event, please call the senior center at 860-434-4127.
