The Town of Lyme is encouraging all residents who haven’t participated yet in the U.S. Census to do so now, as our town is currently lagging behind the national and state census response rate at 46.2 percent. (The current national response rate is 50.7 percent; Connecticut’s response rate is 52.4 percent.) Census results are the basis for congressional representation and help determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds is distributed to states and communities across the country. Residents can take the Census online at https://2020census.gov.
