On Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7:00 p.m., the Friends of the Lyme Public Library will offer “Save the Sound: Exploring the Importance of Pollinator Pathways,” a Zoom presentation by local, eco-friendly gardening experts Jim Sirch and Mary Ellen Lemay. “Pollinator pathways” are pesticide-free corridors of native plants that provide nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects. On Sunday, Feb. 28, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Lyme Land Trust will offer a geology walk in the Brockway-Hawthorne Preserve with former state geologist Ralph Lewis. On Sunday, Mar. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the LLT will offer guided walks in two Lyme preserves to look for tracks and other evidence left behind by wildlife. The Banningwood Preserve walk will be led by LLT’s environmental director Sue Cope; the Pleasant Valley Preserve walk will be led by forest ecologist Tony Irving. Space is limited.
