The Affordable Housing Commission reported today that, in its recent survey, only 15% of the 115 respondents knew how many homes in Lyme currently qualified as affordable housing under state guidelines – 12 homes. Nearly 44% of respondents thought Lyme had only 8 such homes; and a large percentage of respondents (40%) did not think Lyme had any affordable housing at all. To help increase awareness and understanding of what constitutes affordable housing in the state’s eyes, the AHC added the state’s definition of affordable housing to the Town website. That definition can be found here.
