On Thursday, Jun. 3, at 7:00 p.m., the Friends of the Public Library will offer a presentation called “Connecticut Pirates & Privateers” with Wick Griswold that details the swashbuckling stories of Captain Kidd, Blackbeard and other corsairs who frequented the waters, inlets and islands of Connecticut. The Lyme Volunteer Fair will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Lyme Public Library, where more than 30 Lyme-affiliated nonprofits, associations, boards and commissions will be on hand with opportunities for local residents to volunteer and be of service to our town.
