Lyme’s Open Space Coordinator has announced that on select Tuesday mornings in September, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., she and other explorers will once again lead “Tuesday Treks” – weekly walks through different Town preserves. The trek leaders will alternate between Sue Cope, Wendy Hill, Tony Irving and Kristina White. (To reserve a spot, contact the appropriate trek leader; see below.) In the event of inclement weather, the treks are canceled.

On Sunday, Oct. 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., DEEP Forester Emery Gluck leads a talk and short off-trail walk in a section of the Nehantic State Forest where controlled burns are used as a forest-management tool.
