On Tuesday, Jul. 20, at 7:00 p.m., the Friends of the Public Library will offer “The Green Book in New London” – a virtual presentation by Tom Schuch on the travel guide started in 1937 by an African American mailman that listed businesses where Black customers were welcome in New York City. Schuch will demonstrate how the “The Green Book” served not only as a travel guide, but a survival guide, and provides a chronicle of U.S. history. To register for the free program, send an email to programreg@lymepl.org. For more information, call the library at 860-434-2272.
