On Saturday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m., the Friends of the Lyme Public Library will offer “Birding Basics,” a family-friendly, in-person program and outdoor walk from the CT Audubon Society/Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center, that teaches how to ID birds using sound, field guides and phone apps. The program is suitable for ages 6 and up and is limited to 12 children; each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  To register for the program, send an email to programreg@lymepl.org.
