Following public health recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ledge Light Health Department (LLHD), masks will be required for all employees and visitors to Town facilities, regardless of their vaccination status, effective Monday, Aug. 23. This step is being taken as a public health precaution as COVID-19 cases are rising in and around Lyme. Town commissions and boards, as well as outside organizations, may continue to use Town facilities for meetings providing they follow the masking requirements.
On Saturday, Sep. 25, at 2:00 p.m., Debbie Mandel, author of “All Write: How To Start, Structure & Sustain a Writing Group” and member of the Shoreline Writers Group, will discuss her experiences in the group and writing the book. Lyme’s Open Space Coordinator has announced that on select Tuesday mornings in September, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., she and other explorers will once again lead “Tuesday Treks” – weekly walks through different Town preserves. The trek leaders will alternate between Sue Cope, Wendy Hill, Tony Irving and Kristina White. (To reserve a spot, contact the appropriate trek leader; see below.) In the event of inclement weather, the treks are canceled.
