Legal Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers in the Town of Lyme that the 2020 Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills for vehicles newly registered after October 1, 2020 and before August 1, 2021 are due and payable January 1, 2022. These taxes must be paid on or before February 1, 2022 to avoid penalty. The interest rate on delinquent taxes is 1½ percent of said tax from the due date, for each month or fraction thereof which elapses after January 1, 2022 (18% annually). A minimum interest charge of $2.00 is made on all delinquent tax bills. FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE TAX OR WAIVE THE INTEREST DUE, per statute (12-130) should the bill become delinquent. Payments may be mailed to: Lyme Tax Collector, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT, 06371. Payments may also be dropped off at: The Lyme Tax Office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays, 9 am-12:30 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Lyme Town Hall will be closed December 31, 2021 and January 17, 2022.
