January through March
“People and Places of Lyme” Art Exhibit by Kathy Axilrod
This exhibit of Lyme landscapes and portraits by local artist Kathy Axilrod will run for three months, from Jan. 1 until Mar. 31, during the library’s normal business hours. The paintings will be offered for sale, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the library.

“The Sweet Spot” – The Library’s Coffee Cafe
Join the monthly gathering in the library’s café to enjoy coffee, tea, pastries, games, magazines, newspapers and the company of friends and neighbors.

Preschool Story Time
The children’s librarian will lead story time, singalongs and crafts designed for children up to age 4.  Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.  To register for the program, send an email to programreg@lymepl.org.

Racial Equity Book Club with Special Guest Madeleine Hutchins
The Lyme Public Library’s Racial Equity Book Club will discuss “Our Beloved Kin: A New History of King Philip’s War” by Lisa Brooks, copies of which will be available at the circulation desk.  Special guest Madeleine Hutchins will discuss how philosophical and spiritual differences affected communication between Native Americans and European colonists. The special event is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.  The book club is cosponsored by the Bigelow Library in Clinton, Massachusetts. Artist’s Reception for “People and Places of Lyme” Exhibit
The library will host a reception for local artist Kathy Axilrod, whose works will hang in the library from Jan. 1 to Mar. 31.

Shell & Bee Studio Art Class – After-School Art for Grades 1-5
Chelbi Wade of Shell & Bee Studio will lead a fun, creative, after-school art class for elementary school students in Grades 1-5.  Students under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver. To register for the program, send an email to programreg@lymepl.org.
