The Spring hunting season for turkey will resume from Apr. 26 through May 27, with hunting permitted Monday through Thursday in the following preserves.

Bow and shotgun hunting:

  • Beebe Preserve
  • Chestnut Hill Preserve
  • Eno Preserve
  • Hilles Preserve (West and East)
  • Hand-Smith Preserve
  • Johnston Preserve
  • Mount Archer Woods
  • Pickwick’s Preserve (private permit)
  • Plimpton Preserve
  • Slawson Preserve

Bow hunting only:

  • Jewett Preserve

Hunting is permitted Monday through Thursday in these preserves from a half-hour before sunrise until noon.

The preserves, which are owned by the Town of Lyme, the Lyme Land Trust and/or the Nature Conservancy, will remain open to all users during hunting season. 

Hikers and other users of the preserves are encouraged to practice caution and wear bright colors in all the preserves during hunting season as adjacent public and private lands may allow hunting.

Permits for hunting on these preserves are granted by the Town of Lyme Open Space Coordinator each year to a limited number of licensed hunters.
