The Town of Lyme would like to advise area residents that the traditional Cove Road July 4th Parade will be held Tuesday, July 4, at approximately 10:00 a.m., in celebration of Independence Day.  The parade will begin near Camp Claire on Cove Road, cross Route 156 and end at the Lyme Grange.

The grand marshal for this year’s parade will be Steve Mattson, who served as a Selectman on Town of Lyme’s Board of Selectmen for 17 years and then as First Selectman for 5 years, before retiring in 2022.  Mattson currently continues to serve the Town as a member of the Board of Finance.

The Town advises its residents that temporary street closings will be in effect during the parade, travel delays are possible and parking may be limited in some areas.

Route 156 will be closed from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. between Sterling City Road North and South with a detour along Sterling City Road.

As a reminder, Lyme Town Hall, the Lyme Public Library, and the Hamburg Recycling Center will all be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
