Licensed hunters who would like a permit to hunt during the upcoming 2024 Spring Turkey Season (Apr. 24 to May 25) may submit their hunting consent forms now to the Town of Lyme’s Open Space Coordinator.

  • A copy of the consent form can be found here.
  • The Town of Lyme’s hunting policies can be found here.
  • More information on the Town’s hunting program and maps can be found here.

To request a hunting permit, residents should print out and complete the consent form, then mail it – along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope – to Open Space Coordinator, Lyme Town Hall, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT 06371.  Residents can also drop the consent form and a self-addressed, stamped envelope off in person at Town Hall.  Consent forms are not accepted by email.

If consent is granted, the Town of Lyme will return the signed consent form at least one week before the beginning of the Spring Turkey Season.

Parcel preference will be given to hunters who have historically hunted a particular preserve, hunters who have helped to maintain Lyme preserves and hunters who have reported their harvest numbers to the Open Space Coordinator.  (Hunters who have not yet reported their harvest numbers from last year should let the Open Space Coordinator know if they harvested any deer and turkey and, if so, which property they harvested from and how many days they hunted.)

Hunters who would like to hunt as a group should submit their consent forms as a group, add extra postage to the return envelope and indicate whether they are okay having the group broken up.  (If an entire hunting group cannot be accommodated, consent will not be granted unless the group indicates it is willing to be broken into smaller groups.)
