On September 3, 2024, the Ledge Light Health District (LLHD) issued the following statement:
“This summer has brought West Nile Virus-positive mosquitoes in Groton, North Stonington and Stonington and (Eastern Equine Encephalitis)-positive mosquitoes in North Stonington, Ledyard and now Lyme and Stonington.
Protect yourselves and your community by reducing standing water on your property and using mosquito repellent when outdoors.
