The grand marshal for this year’s Cove Road July 4th Parade will be Bill Hawthorne, who served as the Town Treasurer for 26 years and Treasurer of the Lyme Fire Company for 15 years. Bill was a volunteer firefighter for the Town from the age of 16 until his 50s. Bill has lived in Lyme for his entire life – 88 years and counting. He is a fan of UCONN basketball and the Red Sox, and enjoys golf, fishing, motorcycles, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
