The following Lyme preserves will be closed Monday through Friday to all users except hunters with a permit during firearm hunting season for deer, which runs from Nov. 19 through Dec. 23:
- Beebe Preserve
- Chestnut Hill Preserve
- Eno Preserve
- Hilles Preserve (West and East)
- Jewett Preserve
- Johnston Preserve
- Mount Archer Woods
- Pickwick’s Preserve
- Plimpton Preserve
- Slawson Preserve
Please note that during this time no hunting is allowed in these preserves on Saturday or Sunday, when the preserves are open to all other users. Hunting may be allowed on adjacent public and private lands every day of the week.
Hikers and other residents are encouraged to always practice caution and wear bright colors in Lyme preserves during hunting seasons, as adjacent public and private lands may allow hunting – even on weekends.
Permits for hunting in these preserves are granted annually by the Town of Lyme Open Space Coordinator to a limited number of licensed hunters.
