Legal Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers in the Town of Lyme that the 2024 Grand List Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills for vehicles newly registered after October 1, 2024 and before September 30, 2025 are due and payable January 1, 2026. These taxes must be paid on or before February 2, 2026, to avoid penalty. The interest rate on delinquent taxes is 1½ percent of said tax from the due date, for each month or fraction thereof which elapses after January 1,2026 (18% annually). A minimum interest charge of $2.00 is made on all delinquent tax bills. FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT INVALIDATE THE TAX OR WAIVE THE INTEREST DUE, per statute (12-130) should the bill become delinquent. Payments may be mailed to: Lyme Tax Collector, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT. 06371. Payments may also be dropped off at: The Lyme Tax Office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays, 9am-12:30pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Lyme Town Hall will be closed on January 1, 2, and 19, 2026.
