On Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:00 p.m., the Lyme Open Space Coordinator and the Lyme Land Conservation Trust have arranged a presentation by photographer Markham Starr entitled “Ceremonial Stonework: The Enduring Native American Presence on the Land” at the Lyme Public Hall. Starr’s slide presentation will take the audience on an extended walk through the woods to see the ceremonial stonework left behind by the indigenous population that inhabited New England for 12,000 years. Attendees will be invited to a walk to see some of this stonework in local preserves on Saturday, Nov. 16, or Sunday, Nov. 17. For more information, contact Wendy Hill at email@example.com.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., High Hopes Therapeutic Riding will hold its 9th Annual Holiday Market featuring 60 artisan vendors, food trucks, beer and wine tastings, crafts and games for children, raffles and other contests. Admission is free with a donation to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries. Free parking is available onsite, subject to weather. For more information, go here.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, at 1:00 p.m., the Lyme Open Space Coordinator and the Lyme Land Conservation Trust (LLCT) are offering a free nature walk in the Banningwood Preserve, led by Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center Education Director Kim Hargrave. The walk will help young children explore rock outcroppings, notice seasonal changes and search out creatures getting ready for winter.
