On Tuesday mornings in October, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Lyme’s Open Space Coordinator Wendy Hill and other local leaders will continue to lead “Tuesday Treks” – weekly walks through different Town preserves.  Trek leaders alternate between Sue Cope, Tony Irving, Kristina White and Wendy Hill. (To reserve a spot, contact the appropriate trek leader; see below.)  In the event of inclement weather, the treks are canceled.

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7:00 p.m., join award-winning photographer Caryn B. Davis for an in-person presentation of her landscapes from the natural world at the Lyme Public Library. Davis has produced two photography books including “Connecticut Waters: Celebrating Our Coastline and Waterways.” The presentation is sponsored by the Lyme Land Trust. Registration is required. Animal Figurine Search @ Honey Hill Preserve

On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23 and 24, from dawn to dusk, the Lyme Land Trust and LYSB are offering a do-it-yourself animal figurine search in the Honey Hill Preserve – where families can follow a map through the preserve to find a series of two-inch figurines of baby forest animals. Conserving Connecticut’s Biological Diversity @ Zoom

On Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7:00 p.m., the Lyme Pollinator Pathway, the Friends of the Lyme Public Library and the Lyme Land Trust will present DEEP Wildlife Biologist Pete Piccone in a Zoom presentation entitled “To Plant or Not To Plant: Conserving Connecticut’s Biological Diversity,” which explains how to help local wildlife by planting native plants and managing invasive ones. Nutmeg Book Club Meeting @ Lyme Public Library

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Lyme Public Library’s “Nutmeg Book Club” for Grades 2-3 will meet to read books that have received this year’s Nutmeg Book Award.

Wildflower Seed Bomb Making Workshop @ LYSB

On Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the Lyme Pollinator Pathway will offer a workshop in making wildflower seed bombs to feed area wildlife; and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a workshop in creating pressed wildflower art. Library Cookbook Club @ Lyme Public Library
