On Saturday, Jun. 15, at 11:00 a.m., the Lyme Land Conservation Trust will offer a free presentation on bats for residents of all ages at NaturePlace in the Banningwood Preserve.  Maureen Heidtmann, a local librarian and bat expert, will speak on the bat populations in Connecticut, the threats they face and how residents can help protect them.  NaturePlace is an outdoor education space inspired by the vision of Diana and Parker Lord.  The Banningwood Preserve is located off Town Street in Lyme. Reservations for the free event would be appreciated at stewardship@lymelandtrust.org.  (This event will be canceled in the event of rain.)
