Town hall and Library to resume normal hours when power is reinstated.

We have been told that the majority of the town will be restored by Wednesday September 7th. Customers who have trees on the line to their house or have had the electrical service disconnected from their house may experience longer delays.

All blocked roads have now been cleared. We are shifting from the safety phase where the focus was making the area safe by cutting and clearing. The next phase which is restoration of power is already underway. A section of Rte 156 has been energized, as well as some sections of side streets in the area. Today we hope to complete restoration of power along the entire length of Rte 156. Decisions as to what sections of town to restore in what order will be made as the process unfolds. As the process evolves, we hope the restoration effort picks up speed, bringing more people online in shorter periods of time.

Regular landfill hours will resume Thursday. The normal length and diameter restrictions will apply (length eight feet, diameter 6 inches.
