POWER IS BEING RESTORED INTERMITTENTLY.  ASSUME ALL DOWNED WIRES ARE ENERGIZED AND STAY CLEAR!
CL&P:  Downed lines:  call 911.  Outages:  1-800-286-2000 (restoration estimates should be available by calling this number).  IMPORTANT:  If you are not restored when others around you are, call 1-800-286-2000 to report your outage.

Restoration Update:  As all of you know, restoration efforts are ongoing.  We would like to update you in a more comprehensive fashion, however Saturday we had no informational contact with CL&P to definitively inform us as to how many crews were in town and where they were working.  Hopefully, when our CL&P liaison returns today, we will be able to access that information so that we may pass it on to you.  If your power has been restored, consider yourself fortunate.  The CL&P webpage indicates that only 50% of our residents have power as of 5:00 PM Saturday.  This will continue to be a protracted, frustrating endeavor.  The town is doing the best that it can given the informational difficulties that we have encountered to date to provide you with the most current status reports we can.  Given our frustration level, town officials would hope that our residents will continue to exhibit the patience and spirit of cooperation that has made restoration efforts to date a positive exercise versus the alternative.

We have no information relative to AT&T and Comcast restoration.  If you are experiencing loss of service, report it.  For issues with AT&T call 611 or go to att.com if you are able.  For issues with Comcast, call 1-800-266-2278.  The Board of Selectmen suggests that even if you have reported your difficulties one time, if you can stand the process delays, you should call them repeatedly as that appears to be the only way that we can register our discontent with their total inability to provide even marginal service to their subscribers.  Neither company to this point has had the courtesy to contact town officials at the emergency operations center to inform us so that we in turn can inform you as to what their restoration plan and timeframe is.

Regular Lyme Landfill hours have resumed.  The normal length and diameter restrictions for brush apply (length eight feet, diameter 6 inches).  The landfill will not be open on Monday September 5 due to the Labor Day holiday.  It will reopen on Thursday, September 8 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with the exception of noon to 1:00 PM.
