POWER IS BEING RESTORED INTERMITTENTLY.  ASSUME ALL DOWNED WIRES ARE ENERGIZED AND STAY CLEAR!

All blocked roads have now been cleared.  We have shifted from the safety phase where the focus was making the area safe by cutting and clearing.  The next phase which is restoration of power is underway.  All of Route 156 has been energized, as well as part of Route 82 and some sections of side streets in the area.  Today we hope to continue our incremental progress, however complete restoration of power to Lyme is still a very long way away due to the fact that we are a low population density town and have been assigned a lower priority for restoration.

We have no information relative to AT&T and Comcast.  If you are experiencing loss of service, report it.  For issues with AT&T call 611 or go to att.com.  For issues with Comcast, look for the repair number on your bill.

Regular Lyme Landfill hours have resumed.  The normal length and diameter restrictions for brush apply (length eight feet, diameter 6 inches).

The Lyme Library plans to be open for patrons on Friday, September 2.

Lymes’ Senior Center on Town Woods Road is serving as a respite center.  It is open 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM for water (bring your own containers), toilets, WiFi, recharging of cell phones/laptops, and hot meals.  No shower facilities.

Lyme’s Hamburg Fire Station, 213 Hamburg Road, is open 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM for water (bring own containers), bottled water, MREs (meals ready to eat), showers (bring own towels/toiletries), and toilets.  Residents may recharge cell phones and laptops as well.  The Hadlyme station is no longer available as a comfort station.

Ice is available at Old Lyme Seafood on Route 156 (just past Hallmarks) during regular store hours (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM).  You may receive two bags of ice per person per day free of charge.

We are so impressed by the patience and understanding displayed by the residents of Lyme during this challenging time.  We also appreciate the kindness and generosity shown by our folks as well.  Keep calm and carry on.  We’re gettin’ her done.  Slowly but surely, we’re getting’ her done.
