On March 19, 9 Town Transit, in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, issued a statement regarding temporary changes to bus operations. The statement appears in part below:
Effective immediately, passengers will now board from the rear door with the exception of passengers who are in wheelchairs and others who require the bus to kneel. Rear door boarding will help maintain recommended social distancing by providing space of six feet or greater between customers and bus drivers. As a result, we will not collect cash fares and ask that all pass purchases be done online at www.9towntransit.com. There will be no changes to Dial-A-Ride fares or boarding.
