Given that the acceleration of COVID-19 cases in Lyme has abated since late December, the Town has decided to reopen Town Hall and the Public Library to the public effective Monday, Mar. 15. At that time, both facilities will observe the operational schedules and pandemic protocols that were in place before they shifted to a by-appointment-only basis on Dec. 28 (to better protect residents and employees from a rise in COVID cases).
As of Mar. 15, the operational schedule will be:
- Town Hall – Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; available by phone or email on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors must wear masks and the number of visitors inside the building at one time will be limited. Residents are requested to use mail, phone or email whenever possible to limit the number and duration of in-person visits. (Vault access will remain by appointment only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.)
- Public Library – Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – with limits on the number of simultaneous visitors, and a requirement that all visitors wear masks and gloves and practice social distancing. On Wednesdays and Fridays, curbside pickup is available by contacting the library.
As a reminder:
- Brush Hill Transfer Station – Open Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Recycling can be dropped off here all three days.
- Hamburg Recycling Center – Open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
