Absentee ballots for the Nov. 7 municipal election are now available from the Town Clerk’s office.  The Town Clerk recommends the following:

  • Residents who wish to apply to vote by Absentee Ballot can download an application here.
  • After filling out the application, for quickest results, residents are invited to bring it to the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall. If the application is approved, the Town Clerk will either mail the Absentee Ballot to the resident or give the Absentee Ballot to the resident on the same day.
  • Residents can also request an Absentee Ballot online through the Secretary of the State’s office here.

Residents wishing to vote by Absentee Ballot are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible in order to receive and return their ballot in time to be counted. The last day the Town Clerk can issue an Absentee Ballot is Monday, Nov. 6. 

Residents can return a completed ballot by dropping it into the secure Drop Box on the sidewalk at Lyme Town Hall; hand delivering it to the Town Clerk’s office; or mailing it to the Town Clerk c/o Lyme Town Hall, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT 06371. Completed ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m. on November 7.
