River Valley Transit’s (RVT’s) ADA Transit program can provide travel for Lyme residents who have disabilities that prevent them from being able to use RVT’s bus system.  This service can provide travel when the trip origin and destination fall within three-quarters of a mile of an existing RVT bus route, and occur during the same days and hours of that bus route. Fares are $3.50 (one way). Some basic information on the program is provided below. For the full program details, residents should click here.

Program Basics

  • ADA Paratransit is available for all Lyme residents who have a physical or cognitive disability that prevents them from using the RVT bus route system.
  • The service is available for their use whenever their trip origin and destination fall within three-quarters of a mile of an existing RVT bus route, and occur during the same days and hours of that bus route.

  • Applications are available online at ctada.com. (Residents can also call 860-510-0429 x104 to have an application mailed to them.)
  • Once RVT receives and reviews an application, an RVT program representative will call to set up an interview. In some cases, RVT may also require a professional verification.

ADA Paratransit ID Card

  • Residents who are certified as being eligible for the program will receive an ADA Paratransit ID Card and must present this card when using the service.

Accessibility
